I just read an article on NY times yesterday about the terrifying situation inside Seattle Symphony. According to the artcle, its music director/conductor, Gerard Schwarz and the several musicians have been having problems after problems for some time. I have no experience or involvement with any professional orchestra, but I can tell this is not a place where you can concentrate on making great music. The fact musicians' majority votes are totally ignored by the board members, it certainly seems like a dictatorship is present. It is almost sad that it got to a point where everyone in public knows what's been going on. All we can hope is this eruption of volcano will be over soon and calmness sets in place.
